ABOUT LEGACY HEALTH
A residential crisis stabilization unit built around one idea: recovery happens faster in a space that feels human.
Legacy Health was created to fill a gap in behavioral health care — a place between the emergency room and long-term treatment where someone in acute psychiatric crisis can stabilize safely, without the sterile, high-acuity feel of a hospital unit.
Our Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit (RCSU) offers short-term, 24/7 residential care for adults experiencing suicidal ideation, severe emotional distress, or an acute worsening of a mental illness. We're built for the moments that require more support than outpatient care can offer, but not necessarily an inpatient hospital stay.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
We designed every part of this program around one idea: people heal better when they feel safe, respected, and seen as a whole person.
A home-like environment
Comfortable, calming spaces instead of clinical hallways and fluorescent lights.
Individualized care
Every stabilization and safety plan is built around the person in front of us — their diagnosis, their history, and what they actually need to feel steady again.
Coordinated transitions
We don't just stabilize and discharge — we coordinate directly with your next level of care so nothing falls through the cracks.
Around-the-clock support
Nursing check-ins, psychiatric rounds, and clinical staff on-site at every hour, not just during business hours.
WHO WE SERVE
Legacy Health works with individuals in acute psychiatric crisis, those stepping down from inpatient care, and people who can be safely diverted from hospitalization.
We also partner directly with emergency departments, mobile crisis teams, and inpatient discharge planners — giving referring providers a safe, effective alternative to hospitalization, with clinical updates communicated back throughout a person's stay.
OUR APPROACH TO CARE
Stabilization isn't just about managing symptoms — it's about leaving in a stronger position, with a real plan for what comes next.
Every day at Legacy Health includes structured clinical programming — nursing check-ins, psychiatric rounds, grounding groups, skills-based and process groups, and one-on-one time with your primary clinician — paired with quieter, restorative time built into evenings and overnight hours. It's a rhythm designed to feel supportive rather than overwhelming, especially for someone who may be encountering residential mental health care for the first time.
A NEW KIND OF RESIDENTIAL CARE
Built intentionally, from the ground up.
Legacy Health is a newly built program, created intentionally rather than adapted from an older model. That means every part of how we operate — our physical space, our admissions process, our daily structure — was designed from the ground up around what actually helps people stabilize, not around legacy systems or outdated norms.
We're here to be the place someone can come to during one of the hardest moments of their life, and leave feeling like they were genuinely cared for.
